Philosophical instructor, or, Webster's elements of natural philosophy : subdivided into principles and illustrations ; intended for academies, medical schools, and the popular class-room
A natural philosophy textbook by Amos Eaton adapted from John Webster, printed at Albany in 1824 for academies, medical schools and popular classes. The 92 woodcuts are small lettered geometric diagrams — quadrants, prisms, lenses, refracted ray lines, levers and hatched solids — offering designers stark black line figures with alphabetic labels and engraved shading on toned letterpress paper.
