De onwaardige wereld: vertoond in vyftig zinnebeelden, met godlyke spreuken en stichtelyke verzen
A Dutch emblem book of fifty moral pictures with scripture texts and devotional verse, etched and published by Jan Luyken in Amsterdam in 1710 for Protestant lay readers. The small square etchings pair robed figures, globes, skulls, winged Time and Death, and columned doorways with wide landscapes of towns, trees and ruled cross-hatched clouds, giving designers compact emblem vignettes, allegorical attributes and reusable line-shaded sky textures.
