Physics
Balfour Stewart's Physics, issued in 1881 by James Campbell of Toronto as a school and college textbook. The forty figures are small wood-engraved diagrams of laboratory apparatus — bell jars, air pumps, electroscopes, levers on plinths — drawn in fine hatching with italic letter labels, useful as isolated line motifs, technical spot illustrations, or shading references.
