Verdadera medicina, cirugia, y astrologia : en tres libros dividida
A three-part Spanish treatise on medicine, surgery and astrology by Juan de Barrios, printed in Mexico City by Fernando Balli in 1607 for physicians and surgeons in New Spain. The pictures are worn woodcut initials: foliate letters on black criblé grounds, outline capitals filled with curling leaves and ribbon, and figure initials where a bearded man leans into the letterform.
