The structural and industrial materials of California
A California State Mining Bureau report by Lewis E. Aubury, printed at Sacramento in 1906, surveying building stone, clay, cement, and other industrial minerals for quarry operators, builders, and state officials. The plates are halftone photographs of open quarry faces, bedded cliffs, rubble slopes, derricks, tramways, and small wooden works buildings, offering coarse-grained rock texture, strong tonal blocks of light stone against dark shadow, and low horizon industrial landscapes.
