A Dutch emblem book of a hundred trades, etched by Jan Luyken and his son Caspar and reissued in Amsterdam in 1730 by Kornelis van der Sys, pairing each craft with scripture and moralizing verse for household reading. The small upright plates put single workers at bench, loom, press or forge inside cross-hatched interiors, with tools, workshop clutter and a window or doorway opening onto a street, giving designers period tool shapes, dense linear shading and compact figure-at-work compositions.
