Air Wonder Stories, Vol. 1, No. 3 (September 1929)
Air Wonder Stories was a science-fiction pulp magazine edited by Hugo Gernsback in New York, this issue dated September 1929 and sold for 25 cents to readers of aviation and future-flight fiction. The color cover shows a painted airliner and a platform hung beneath a balloon over a coastal town, while interior pages are black line drawings of cigar-hulled aircraft over water, a saucer craft among skyscrapers, and a labelled cutaway of a future airplane; useful for hand-lettered story titles, stippled cloud and wave texture, and technical callout diagrams.
