Wells, Curt Siodmak and George McLeod Winsor for a popular readership of mechanics and radio hobbyists. Story-opening plates in coarse line and hatching show giant dynamos, insulated laboratory stools, floating lamps and a winged monster over a city street, with captions set beneath.
