1927 · 7 pictures

The March 1927 issue of Amazing Stories, the pulp science-fiction monthly Hugo Gernsback published in New York, carrying stories by H. G. Wells, T. S. Stribling and Edgar Rice Burroughs for a general newsstand readership. A painted cover shows a finned rocket standing among red desert cliffs, while interior pen-and-ink plates render airships, ringed planets and falling figures in dense hatching usable as stock space-adventure imagery.
