American Drawing Magazine 1805
A drawing-instruction periodical issued in Philadelphia in 1805 by the sculptor and painter John Eckstein, an early Pennsylvania Academy figure, made as graded copy plates for students learning to draw. The sheets are pale outline drawings in fine pencil and thin ink line — cattle and sheep grouped in pasture, a farm cart under trees, roses and fruit arranged in swags — usable as uncolored contour templates, borders, or faded-paper textures.
