A single issue of the weekly American aviation trade journal Aviation, dated October 16, 1922 and published by the Gardner, Moffat Company of Highland, New York, for engineers, manufacturers, airmail operators and military readers. The plates are coarse-screened halftone photographs of aero engines, magnetos and factory airfields seen from the air, set into full-page manufacturers' advertisements with winged trademarks, ruled borders and mixed display type that designers can lift as period industrial lettering and machine studies.
