Boult's carving, paneling, moulding and dovetailing machine for shaping, edge moulding, surface moulding, moulding scroll or fret work, paneling, dovetailing, etc
A trade catalogue issued in 1880 by the Battle Creek Machinery Company of Michigan to sell Boult's wood-carving, paneling and dovetailing machine to furniture shops and mills. Wood engravings show the machine from several angles alongside its output: sunken panels with beaded borders, scrolled fretwork outlines, moulded cutter profiles and end-grain dovetails, useful as ornament frames and machine-part silhouettes.
