A French trade pamphlet of 1884 issued by C. Chassevent for Gustave Trouvé's portable, self-righting electric safety lamps, aimed at buyers of mining, workshop and household lighting equipment. Wood engravings signed Poyet show the cylindrical battery lamp from several angles, held in a gloved hand or slung at the hip, with white-line ruled detail on black grounds and radiating rays from the caged bulb; useful for cutaway apparatus diagrams, hand-holding-object vignettes and light-burst motifs.
