Instruction générale pour la teinture des laines, et manufactures de laine, de toutes couleurs & pour la culture des drogues, ou ingrediens qu'on y employe
A 1672 French government instruction on dyeing wool and cultivating dye plants, printed in Paris by François Muguet for dyers, cloth manufacturers and the officials inspecting them. Its illustration is entirely typographic: small relief-cut tailpieces in triangular and pendant shapes, one a swagged basket of fruit and grapes, one a scrolled arabesque of curls and dots, plus a foliate initial S, all useful as section breaks, drop caps and small spot ornaments.
