[Fabric sample book]
A salesman's sample book of printed cotton kerchiefs and yard goods issued by the Paris firm Darras-Heumann in 1863 for buyers of French printed textiles. Each swatch is a squared handkerchief layout with banded borders, corner medallions, and scattered field motifs in madder red, purple, olive, and black, useful for border systems, repeat spot patterns, and period color pairings.
