How to use Florence knitting silk : no. 4
An 1882 instruction pamphlet issued by the Nonotuck Silk Company of Florence, Massachusetts, to sell its knitting silk to home needleworkers, with patterns for lace edgings, insertions, knitted and crocheted fancy work. The engravings are close-up renderings of worked fabric in dense pen hatching, each swatch keyed with small italic letters marking row divisions; useful as repeating textile textures, scalloped border strips, and open lace grounds.
