New künstlichs Modelbuch : von allerhand artlichen und gerechten Mödeln, auff der laden zuwircken
A German pattern book of embroidery and lacework designs, printed by Bernhard Jobin at Strasbourg in 1589 for needleworkers copying motifs onto cloth. Woodcut plates give grid-counted borders and bands in reversed black and white: scrolling vines, paired birds and beasts, interlaced strapwork, and rows of blackletter initials usable as repeat rules, tiles, or pixel-grid ornament.
