A German pattern book of 1792 issued by the Schul-buchhandlung, supplying designs for fashionable whitework embroidery on linon, muslin and fine lawn to women working needlework at home. The plates are narrow horizontal border strips in plain engraved outline: scalloped edges, rows of punched eyelet dots, undulating stems with small leaves and five-petal flowers, and rosettes built from circles, usable as repeating rules, frames and endpapers.
