Florence home needle-work
An annual instruction manual issued by the Nonotuck Silk Company of Florence, Massachusetts, in 1893 to teach home needleworkers stitches, macramé, crochet, knitting and drawn-work using the firm's silk threads. Engraved plates show knotted net lattices, threaded needles laying single stitches across woven ground, and monograms, giving designers clean line diagrams of cord, knot and textile weave.
