A German pattern book printed by Sigismund Latomus at Frankfurt am Main in 1622, collecting 540 embroidery and lace models drawn from Italian, French, Netherlandish, English and German sources for needleworkers and weavers. The woodcuts are counted-thread grids printed as white on black or black on white: repeating borders, diamond and strapwork lattices, medallion bands with small figures and animals, all reducible to square modules for tiling patterns, rules and monochrome ornament.
