Volume three of Max von Boehn's history of dress, published by F. Bruckmann in Munich in 1919 for German readers of costume and social history. The plates reproduce hand-tinted nineteenth-century fashion engravings, mostly pairs of women posed front and back in garden or terrace settings, giving designers crinoline silhouettes, bonnets, parasols, plaid and lace detail, and soft watercolour washes on tinted paper.
