A 1920 trade manual issued by the Engineering Department of the National Lamp Works of General Electric to sell factory owners and plant engineers on electric illumination. Halftone photographs show machine shops, drafting rooms and assembly floors at night, with pendant fixtures flaring into starbursts, long receding rows of belt-driven lathes, and steep perspective down lit aisles.
