Modern Wall Decoration : Practical Art Sense in Color, Harmony and Design
A 1920 trade booklet from the Alabastine Co. of Paris, Ontario, promoting its powdered wall tint to homeowners, painters and decorators with advice on color harmony and stencil design. The plates are coarse-screen halftone photographs of middle-class interiors—dining and living rooms with brick or tiled fireplaces, paneled wainscot, patterned rugs and stenciled friezes—useful for period furniture silhouettes, border motifs and the grainy grey tonal range of early advertising photography.
