Science Wonder Stories, Vol. 1, No. 2 (July 1929)
Science Wonder Stories for July 1929, the second issue of Hugo Gernsback's pulp magazine from Stellar Publishing in New York, aimed at American readers of speculative fiction. The interior plates, mostly by Frank R. Paul, pair hand-lettered display titles with dense pen-and-ink scenes of ray machines, tube trains and alien arenas, printed on yellowed pulp stock — useful for lettering models, machine diagrams and crosshatched crowd and tunnel perspective.
