Science Wonder Stories, Vol. 1, No. 7 (December 1929)
A 1929 issue of Science Wonder Stories, the American pulp magazine Hugo Gernsback launched in New York for readers of scientific romance, priced for the newsstand. The pages are story-opening plates in black pen and brush, mostly by Frank R. Paul: domed future cities on tiered viaducts, a saucer landing among jungle palms, a giant striding over farmland beside a touring car, hand-lettered display titles and a captioned strip at the foot.
