Sketch book of the Philadelphia & Boston face brick co.
A 1904 trade catalogue issued by the Philadelphia & Boston Face Brick Co. to show architects, builders and homeowners what could be built from its face brick. Seventy plates pair halftone photographs of finished brick fireplaces with wash-drawn design sketches, recording mantel shelves, corbelled brickwork, arched hearth openings, wrought-iron andirons and fire tools, and the clocks, vases and framed prints arranged above them; useful for period interior detail, ironwork silhouettes and soft grey tonal textures.
