A 1921 trade manual from General Electric's Edison Lamp Works, compiled by A.L. Powell, advising factory managers and engineers on lighting machine shops and metal working plants. The halftone photographs show darkened shop interiors with rows of overhead reflectors, concrete columns, flaring lamp glare and machine silhouettes, useful for grainy industrial texture, receding perspective lines and high-contrast night interiors.
