A trade catalogue issued in 1884 by the Van Depoele Electric Light Company of Chicago to sell dynamos, arc lamps, motors and electroplating equipment to municipalities and industrial buyers. Wood-engraved plates show each machine in tonal detail against plain or scroll-edged frames, giving designers isolated apparatus silhouettes, globe-and-rod arc lamp forms, and finely hatched metal surfaces.
