Cottages
A pattern book of cottage and suburban house designs issued by the New York architectural publisher William T. Comstock in 1884, collecting competition drawings from American architects for builders and prospective homeowners. Plates pair pen-and-ink perspective sketches of gabled, shingled and half-timbered houses with labelled first- and second-floor plans, plus hand-lettered captions, framing rules and thin trees and fencing useful as line-art vignettes.
