Aberglaube und zauberei von den ältesten zeiten an bis in die gegenwart
Alfred Lehmann's history of superstition and magic from antiquity to the present, issued in German by F. Enke in Stuttgart in 1898 as a psychologist's sceptical survey for educated lay readers. The plates are plain line diagrams: numbered figures of zodiac wheels with planetary signs and marked degree angles, pentagram and triangle aspect patterns in dotted and dashed rules, and a magic seal ring lettered with divine names, crosses and corner stars — a ready supply of circular armatures, occult glyphs and hand-drawn geometry.
