A two-part Latin catalogue of ancient Greek and Roman signet rings and engraved gems, assembled by the Antwerp antiquary Abraham van Goorle and reissued with Jacobus Gronovius's notes at Leiden in 1695 for collectors and classical scholars. Copperplate pages by Jacob de Gheyn and Anthony van Zylvelt set numbered round intaglio designs—deities, animals, trophies—on torn paper sheets draped over stone plinths, giving designers ready roundel motifs, trompe-l'oeil framing devices and engraved label cartouches.
