An abridgment of Smith's Illustrated astronomy
An abridgment of Asa Smith's school astronomy course, issued in New York by Cady & Burgess in 1850 for children and beginning readers. The sampled pages show tan endpapers printed with a repeating Library of Congress eagle-and-shield seal and ring lettering, beside the volume's engraved line diagrams of orbits, phases and planetary scale, giving both a ready tiling pattern and plain schematic figures.
