Account of the Ionic trophy monument excavated at Xanthus
Charles Fellows's 1848 archaeological report for John Murray, London, describing the Ionic trophy monument he excavated at Xanthus in Lycia and shipped to the British Museum, addressed to antiquarians and museum subscribers. Line engravings and lithographs show the ashlar podium in ruin and reconstructed with a colonnaded upper chamber, plus relief friezes of horsemen, giving designers masonry coursing, cornice profiles and bare hillside settings.
