Giovanni Aldini's 1803 report, published in London by Cuthell and Martin, on galvanic experiments demonstrated to the French National Institute and repeated in London anatomy theatres, addressed to physicians and natural philosophers. Engraved plates show numbered figures of glass battery jars, wire pile fittings, dissected limbs and nerves, and seated men gripping conductors, drawn in fine outline with dense parallel hatching and figures floating on blank ground.
