The Aeroplane
The Aeroplane was a weekly British aviation trade journal published in London by Temple Press from 1911, written for aircraft manufacturers, pilots and service officers. Its illustrations are coarse-screen newspaper halftones on tanned paper: machine guns and synchronizing gear mounted on stands, a biplane banked against cloud, and fanned sheaves of log sheets, useful for gritty dot texture, silhouetted mechanical profiles and period aircraft rigging.
