The Aeroplane; the international air transport journal
The Aeroplane was a weekly British aviation trade journal begun in 1911 and published in London for aircraft makers, pilots, and engineers. The plates are coarse-screen halftone photographs of biplanes standing on grass airfields, shown broadside with struts, wire rigging and large registration letters on the tail, alongside advertisement lettering such as the Shell petrol block; useful for aircraft silhouettes, painted registration codes, and period advertising type.
