Aesthetik des Lichts
Curt Bauer's German treatise on the aesthetics of light, published by R. Piper in Munich in 1908 for readers of art theory and criticism. Sixteen monochrome halftone plates reproduce paintings and etchings chosen for their handling of light: a tree-lined lane in dense hatching, a dim nocturne reflected in water, sunlit figures in a field, and a Cranach portrait in fur and dark cap.
