Akephalos, der kopflose gott
A German scholarly monograph by the papyrologist Karl Preisendanz, published in Leipzig by J. C. Hinrichs in 1926 for classicists studying the headless god of Greco-Egyptian magic. Its plates are traced line facsimiles of magical papyri and amulets: a crude standing figure in cross-hatched dress, coiled snakes, rows of Greek voces magicae and charakteres usable as occult ornament and lettering.
