Album de dentelle de Venise
A pattern album of Venetian-style needle lace issued around 1900 in Paris by the Manufacture Parisienne des Cotons L.V. et M.F.A., compiled by G. Hardouin for lacemakers and needlework shops buying its threads. Each plate is a halftone photograph of one square motif shot flat against black, so pale thread reads as a white line drawing: wheels, spoked rosettes, picot-edged bars, triangular fillings and open grounds usable as mandalas, borders, rosette ornaments or stencil-ready silhouettes.
