Album of engravings
A trade catalogue of steel engravings issued by Marks Brothers, a Philadelphia department store, in 1877, showing stock plates sold as parlour prints to American household buyers. The plates are sentimental genre scenes in fine stipple and line — mothers with children, a graveside mourner, a kitchen maid among game and copperware — usable for tonal shading, period dress and interior props.
