All around a palette
A children's story collection about artists written by Elizabeth W. Champney and illustrated by her painter husband James Wells Champney, printed in Boston by Lockwood, Brooks and Co. in 1878 for young readers. The pictures are pen-and-ink line drawings — sketchy outdoor scenes of figures with easels and staffs, girls in long dresses in shadowed interiors, and small foliate headpieces and tailpieces — useful as spot illustrations, chapter ornaments and loose hatched line texture.
