Allgemeine Theorie der schönen Künste : in einzeln, nach alphabetischer Ordnung der Kunstwörter auf einander folgenden Artikeln abgehandelt
Johann Georg Sulzer's alphabetical encyclopedia of the fine arts, published in Leipzig in 1771 for German readers of aesthetics, with music articles by Johann Philipp Kirnberger and Johann Abraham Peter Schulz and plates by Daniel Chodowiecki. The plates reproduced here are engraved music examples—two-stave systems of whole and half notes with figured-bass numerals, clefs, key signatures and numbered measures—usable as ornament-free notation fragments, staff-rule textures and eighteenth-century engraved type specimens.
