Alphabets old and new, for the use of craftsmen
A designer's reference book of lettering compiled by Lewis Foreman Day and published by B.T. Batsford in London in 1910 for craftsmen, signwriters and decorators. The plates run through hundreds of complete alphabets in line and solid black, from Roman and blackletter capitals to foliated initials whose stems dissolve into scrolling leaf work, usable as drop caps, monogram stock or pattern sources.
