Altchristliche und byzantinische Kunst
Oskar Wulff's German survey of Early Christian and Byzantine art, issued in Berlin-Neubabelsberg in 1914 as a handbook for students and scholars of the period. The plates are halftone photographs of wall mosaics, cave-church frescoes, apse vaults and carved fittings, printed dark and grainy, and supply tiered narrative registers, arched window frames, enthroned and orant figures, and register-divided wall layouts.
