Alterthum und Gegenwart. Gesammelte Reden und Vorträge
Collected lectures and addresses on classical antiquity by the German archaeologist and historian Ernst Curtius, published by Wilhelm Hertz in Berlin in 1886 for an educated German readership. The scanned pages are binding materials rather than subject illustrations: a repeating gold-and-olive endpaper pattern of scrolling palmettes and stylized foliage, dark green speckled cloth boards with leather corners, and a library book pocket; useful as tileable ornament and period cover texture.
