Amazing Stories, Apr 1926
Amazing Stories for April 1926, the second issue of Hugo Gernsback's New York science-fiction pulp, carrying reprinted tales by Wells, Verne and Poe for a readership of hobbyist and amateur-science readers. Pen-and-ink story illustrations mix stark black masses with fine hatching: a giant man towering over a toy-sized motorcar, a shadowed deathbed, an Edwardian street of char-a-bancs, cyclists and bystanders.
