American girl's book: or, Occupation for play hours
A handicraft and games manual by Eliza Leslie, published in Boston and New York in 1831 for girls to use at home during play hours. Small wood engravings show finished projects and patterns: drawstring work bags, needle books, scalloped pincushions, doll clothes, and a paper-doll figure in puffed sleeves, all drawn in fine parallel hatching against printed text.
