American masters of sculpture : being brief appreciations of some American sculptors, and of some phases of sculpture in America
Charles H. Caffin's survey of American sculptors and sculptural practice, published by the Musson Book Co. in Toronto in 1913 for general readers and art students. Halftone photographs show single statues and relief panels isolated against dark or blank grounds: a seated marble nude, a kneeling bronze smith with hammer, a robed seated scholar on a stepped plinth, and a low-relief drawing of a winged figure with a child; useful for figure silhouettes, drapery studies, and monument-plinth shapes.
