Anatomiae amphitheatrvm effigie triplici, more et conditione varia, designatvm
A Latin anatomical treatise by the English physician and Rosicrucian writer Robert Fludd, printed at Frankfurt in 1623 by Johann Theodor de Bry for physicians and natural philosophers reading anatomy alongside mystical and spagiric medicine. The engravings show flayed torsos with peeled-back muscle flaps, brains trailing branching nerve and vessel trees, and isolated skull and ear bones, each part tagged with letters and figure numbers, giving designers fine line-hatched body diagrams and rootlike branching forms.
