Ancient art and ritual
Jane Harrison's 1913 study of the ritual origins of Greek drama, published in London by Williams and Norgate for the Home University Library's general readership. The plates are line redrawings of Greek reliefs, friezes and vase paintings—processions of draped figures, chariot scenes set in framed panels above acanthus capitals, and a crowded assembly of gods with hand-lettered captions—useful as ready-made headpiece bands and classical figure outlines.
